Anxiety, Panic and Stress

Although anxiety, stress, phobias and panic may be defined as separate conditions, the physiological and psychological responses that those conditions represent are very similar.

The fundamental drive of any animal, including humans, is the survival of the individual. Without survival there cannot be reproduction and therefore replication of the species. In order for a person to survive a life-threatening situation, he/she has to be able to run away from the threat, or fight it in order to gain an advantage, defend as a last resort or to stay still in the desire that the threat will not notice him/her and go away. This is the fight or flight OR defend or freeze response (hereafter just referred to as the flight or flight response). None of the above has to be a sole reaction, there are mixtures.

There are some wonderful techniques for bringing about relief. See the links about breathing and posture techniques, above.

How To Beat Anxiety, Panic, Phobias and Stress is a small illustrated handbook that shows you how to do three simple things to get control back into your life.

The author suffered from anxiety, panic and stress many years ago. He found ways to control them and now successfully treats others for anxiety related problems.

The methods and techniques described have helped many people to overcome their own anxiety problems. They will help you. The approach is sensible and practical. The adrenaline rush, or fight-or-flight response, was needed for survival in hostile territory thousands of years ago. In today's world it causes the modern problems of Panic, Anxiety, Phobias, Stress and Anger. It seems to be beyond our conscious control. We are told that it can only be moderated by medicines.

However, there is good news. We can bring a natural counter-system into operation by changing our breathing, posture and the language we use for speaking and thinking.

Extracted and revised from The Secret Language of Hypnotherapy, this book shows you how to use those natural resources that bring about the opposite reaction to panic, anxiety, stress and anger. We can easily promote feelings of relaxation, recovery and control.
